Asking Questions Effectively on Twitter

 

One great way to promote interaction with you is to ask a question. If no one replies, never fear – here’s some really great tips in getting the best response possible.

1.     Repeat the question a few times in the day to capture different time zones

2.     Use hashtags and Twemes to gather and display the responses on your blog.

3.     After you ask the question, ask member of your circle to retweet it so it gets more exposure.

4.     Ask a question that can be answered in one tweet

5.     Retweet some answers

6.     Offer a cash prize to the winning answer

7.     Set a specific time to ask questions every week so your followers expect it

8.     Tell followers that you’ll post their answers in your blog

9.     Giving more than one option in the answer (a, b or c)

10.   Add some controversy or spice gets people passionate

11.   Start the question with QUESTION: it get more attention

12.   Answer a lot of questions and people will answer your questions

13.   Ask followers to finish a sentence eg “I’m still twittering at 5am because ….”
